"I know two Neils, the cool Neil and then I know camera Neil," Role tells Bowlus as the couple stand in their kitchen. "It's fake to me."
The couple then seek help from expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz. Schwartz asks the couple if they're both still committed to their marriage.
"I am," Bowlus says and looks over at his wife who remains silent.
Ashley Doherty & David Norton
Ashley Doherty and David Norton are another couple struggling with mutual attraction, but Norton has been patient with his new wife and respected her boundaries. Just as Doherty seems comfortable enough to allow Norton to lay in the same bed with her, he loses his temper when discussing his father's death.
"Why are you so grumpy?" Doherty asks Norton.
"Cause my dad died, that's why," says Norton as he gets out of bed, storms off and slams the door behind him.
Vanessa Nelson & Tres Russell
Physical attraction came easily for Vanessa Nelson and Tres Russell, but Nelson doubted whether Russell was mature enough to take marriage seriously after learning about his playboy past — a doubt that resurfaces after Russell admits to getting drunk.
"In my mind, you're still not ready to be a husband," says Nelson.
