Prenatal Health: Vaginal Speakers Play Music To Promote Fetal Development

Child development can now begin in the womb, as new vaginal speakers allow babies to be imbued with the holistic effects of music before they're even born, according to the Guardian. A new device called Babypod could change the way pregnant mothers interact with their children before they are born.

Products exist that allow unborn children to experience music by external means, sometimes using some sort of specialized prenatal speaker that fits around the belly; there have been previous research reports on how newly born babies can respond to the effects of music, according the Daily Mail.

But now, that might not be enough, as a new device called the Babypod is hitting the scene and changing how mothers care for their child's prenatal development. Devices that can be placed around a pregnant mother's belly are one thing, but the BabyPod can be placed into the vagina, allegedly sending music straight to a woman's fetus which will stimulate its development.

"Babies learn to speak in response to sound stimuli, especially melodic sound. Babypod is a device that stimulates before birth through music," according to the Babypod website. "With Babypod, babies learn to vocalize from the womb."

The abdominal wall apparently muffles sound, so for the benefits of music to take effect, it's best to use the vagina," according to Institut Marques, which specializes in gynecology.

The device connects to an app via smartphone, but parents to be can listen and experience the music alongside their child using earphones which will dangle out from the vagina.
