Russia has launched a new cologne inspired by President Vladimir Putin that is now on sale in Moscow's GUM department store and online. "Leaders Number One," created by Belarussian perfumer Vladislav Rekunov, is sold in a black bottle featuring Putin's profile in the center for $95.
"It's a warm scent, a textured scent. It's soft but at the same time it's very firm," Rekunov said, according to The Guardian, adding that the cologne evokes scents of lemon, black currant and fir cones, making it "attractive, matter-of-fact and natural."
"It was designed to be warm and well-rounded, and I would call it uniting. It's not an aggressive scent," he continued, according to the New York Daily News.
This cologne is just the latest in a growing list of Russian products that feature Putin in some way, shape or form.
Russian-based Caviar released a phone called the Caviar Ti Gold Supremo Putin Anniversario Edizone 63 in October 2015, just in time for Putin's 63rd birthday. The company is known for creating Russia-themed luxury remakes of Apple products, so the phone in question was really just a normal iPhone 6s with Putin's golden profile encrusted on the back. Despite the seemingly minimal changes, the 63 products sold, in accordance with the birthday theme, went for $3,200 and came with a velvet-lined wooden case and a $306 carrying case, according to Mashable.
Other Putin-inspired products include calenders, t-shirts and posters, many of which can be seen here.
In the meantime, makers say that the first production run is limited to 2,000 bottles and intend to release a female version of "Leaders Number One" in the near future. Part of the proceeds will go towards a children's disease treatment fund.
