Boyz II Men are joining the cast of “Grease: Live.” The hit-making R&B trio will play Teen Angel(s) and sing the iconic song “Beauty School Dropout,” according to Fox. The role was memorably portrayed by Frankie Avalon in the 1978 film.
Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman announced their participation in the live telecast via Twitter yesterday, saying they are “so excited,” and included a video of them singing an a cappella snippet of the musical’s title track. Watch the clip below.
The star-studded cast of “Grease: Live” includes Julianne Hough as Sandy, Aaron Tveit as Danny, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty, Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy, Kether Donohue as Jan, Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie, Mario Lopez as Vince Fontaine and Ana Gasteyer as the principal.
“Grease: Live” will air on Fox Sunday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. ET.
