People have been completely transfixed on the new Netflix 10-part, true crime docu-series called "Making a Murderer." The show has been compared to other hits in the true crime genre like "The Jinx" and "Serial," two other shows that people could not stop talking about. Celebrities have expressed their fascination with the show and many even took to social media to express their thoughts on the series that explores the case of Steven Avery.
"Never mind an Emmy or an Oscar.... @MakingAMurderer deserves a Nobel Prize. The greatest documentary I've ever seen," Comedian Ricky Gervais tweeted on Dec. 23, 2015.
"If your appetite for justice and fascinating documentary is unabated during the holidays: @MakingAMurderer @netflix," Alec Baldwin tweeted. If you live in #Matinowoc WI, you should be scared to death," the former star of "30 Rock" said.
"Making a Murderer" tells the story of Avery, a man from Matinowoc, Wisc., who was imprisoned for 18 years for sexual assault and was freed when DNA evidence confirmed his innocence. Avery enjoyed less than two years of freedom before he was arrested along with his 16-year-old nephew Brendan Dassey for the murder of a young woman named Teresa Halbach. Avery once again maintained his innocence and insisted he did not kill Halbach. He is currently serving a life sentence in prison for her murder.
"I've just spent 10 hours watching "Making of a Murderer" on @netflix -what an astounding and terrifying look at our judicial system," actor Paul Wesley tweeted.
