New York Knicks Rumors: Tyson Chandler Out 4-6 Weeks, Jeremy Tyler Possible As NYK Consider Stoudemire, Martin & Aldrich

New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler will reportedly miss 4-6 weeks because of a leg injury. With Amar'e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin on restricted minutes, the Knicks could look to bring up Jeremy Tyler from the D-league to add another big man to the roster.

"Chandler suffered a small non-displaced fracture of the right fibula. Further tests showed no ligament or nerve damage and surgery is not required. He is expected to be out approximately 4-6 weeks," according to the team's official website.

The injury happened on Tuesday against the Charlotte Bobcats when guard Kemba Walker tripped in to Chandler's knee during a drive to the basket. Chandler exited the game and didn't return.

Cole Aldrich, the only other true center on the roster, is expected to see more playing time. New York also has Andrea Bargnani, Stoudemire and Martin on the roster, but the latter two are playing on restricted minutes.

Coach Mike Woodson has planned to limit Stoudemire and Martin's minutes and alternate them in back-to-back games. To preserve his plan to keep the veterans healthy, Woodson said he may activate Tyler from the D-league, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The 22-year-old signed a partially-guaranteed contract with the Knicks in the summer but was released after suffering a stress fracture in September. Tyler was acquired on Monday by the Knicks' D-league affiliate, the Erie Bayhawks.

"...If he comes out of (this injury) nicely, he could be in a Knick uniform," said Woodson.
