Barcelona sits atop Group H with seven points (2-1-0), and Milan trails in second with five points. With the group stage halfway over, both clubs are looking for points to cement a spot in the next round. Milan, who's lost five games so far in Serie A and is coming off a 2-0 loss on Saturday to Fiorentina, will look to bounce back on Wednesday.
"This is the most difficult situation I've faced in my three-and-a-half years at Milan," AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri told reporters, via Sky Sports. "I'm responsible for everything. We cannot play as bad as we did against Fiorentina.
"We need to come out of this ugly situation. In football, results count and we have a week to put things right, starting with the game at Barcelona. One thing is clear, we need to give much more because what we've done so far, is simply not enough."
Barcelona, meanwhile, can secure a spot in the knockout round with a win over Milan.
"We would love to win because it would place us in a great position in the group," said Barcelona forward Pedro. "But Milan is a team that has a lot of potential and we cannot take them lightly."
