Kristen Bell: Baby Lincoln Could Have Been a Water Bottle; Actress Reveals She Felt no Connection During Pregnancy

Kristen Bell is opening up about her pregnancy for the first time in the December issue of Flare magazine. The 33-year-old actress revealed that she struggled connecting with her baby through the pregnancy. It wasn't until after baby Lincoln was born, Bell said she finally felt some type of bond.

The "Veronica Mars" star told the magazine that she expressed her concerns to her now-husband Dax Shepherd telling him that she wasn't sure if she would like baby Lincoln as much as she liked her other babies - a corgi-chow mix named Lola and a corgi-Chihuahua named Mr. Shakes.

"I kept saying to him in all sincerity during my pregnancy, 'I just don't know how I'm going to like her as much as I like my dogs,'" she said. "I love people the more I know them, and I didn't know her. It could have been a water bottle in my belly, that's how connected I felt to her during my pregnancy."

Bell said despite her concerns about her maternal instincts not kicking in, it didn't take long for her to realize just how much she did love her baby girl.

"Within about 24 hours after she came out, my hormones reset and they reprogrammed my feelings about her," she said adding that now she wants to spend all her time with her 7-month-old daughter.

The actress also talked about her pregnancy plan and how she went into the delivery thinking she would have a nice, smooth and natural delivery but once the first contraction hit her plan went flying out the window.

"I found it very important when making my birth plan to research both sides of the argument," she said. "I tend to lean toward a more crunchy-granola, organic-type lifestyle, so I thought, 'I'll bring the yoga ball, I'll have a playlist.' And we got there, and none of it applied."
