Mario Gotze is open to a move from Bayern Munich, but the move just might not take place immediately, according to Goal.com.
The German international was rumored to be involved in a January transfer to Liverpool. Bayern Munich's asking price for the 23-year-old midfielder is at least €50 million according to ESPN FC. Gotze dispelled all of these rumors on Friday.
"I can rule out a move to Liverpool this winter," Gotze said, Sky Sports reported. "I don't know where the rumors about Klopp and me are coming from."
That being said, Gotze didn't rule out a move entirely, Sport Bild reported.
"Everything is still open. We will see how things go at the end of the season," he said. "I have a contract until June 2017. But of course, it is important how the new coach feels about me. The coach's plans are decisive in the end."
Carlo Ancelotti will take over for current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, who is leaving the German side for a move to the Premier League after the season, according to CNN.
"So we will just have to wait and see how things pan out. I have not really given my future much thought recently because of my injury, but everything is open as things stand." Gotze said.
Gotze scored the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup and has four goals in 11 matches for Bayern Munich this season. However, he has been nursing a groin injury since October and doesn't expect to see the pitch any time soon, according to Sky Sports.
"I have six nice months ahead of me. It is always annoying when you cannot play and cannot help the team," he said.
"It is only normal that you think about things like that. But you have to look at the positives and build on those."
Bayern Munich Sporting Director Mathias Sammer didn't like the idea of losing Gotze, having referred to the rumors as "idiocy" when asked about the idea of Gotze transferring to Liverpool, Sky Sports noted.
