Microsoft has added new features to their Xbox One, including a revamp of their Friends App and multiplayer features.
"Designed around you and your friends, Xbox One will have plenty of room for all your favorite people in the brand new Friends system on Xbox One. Your Xbox 360 friends will automatically be added to your Friends list," Microsoft wrote on the console's official site.
"With Xbox One you can have 1,000 friends, connect with people instantly by following them and have infinite followers yourself. You can also see all of your Xbox One and Xbox 360 friends and their activity in your Activity Feed," Microsoft continued.
The new Friends app is similar to any other social media network in the sense you'll be able to follow friends and share information on a news feed. Gamers will also be able to follow their favorite gaming personalities, such as Major Nelson, and see what games they've been playing.
The Friends app will also allow you to control what your friends and followers see. A follower won't get the same updates as someone you've added as a friend. A friend will get real time updates of the achievements you've unlocked, but a follower will not.
As for the changes in the multiplayer gaming, the below infograph explains it best.
