The Oklahoma Sooners visit the Baylor Bears on Thursday for a Big 12 college football showdown. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast HERE and HERE.
Baylor continues to make the claim as an NCAA powerhouse with a 7-0 record. The Bears are the only remaining undefeated team in the Big 12, and their explosive offense leads the nation with 63.9 points and 718.4 yards per game, according to the Associated Press.
"I certainly think that people view us as a legitimate threat," Baylor coach Art Briles told reporters, via the Associated Press. "Whether we're viewed as the perennial program that this is one that you better watch out for all the time, I don't know. Time will tell that. But I do think now that we've earned enough respect where when people look at us, they're thinking that's a tough out."
The Bears will look to push their 11-game winning streak to 12 when Oklahoma's stingy defense visits Waco. The Sooners defense ranks 10thh in the FBS with just 314.3 yards per game allowed. The Sooners also have a 21-1 all-time record against the Bears.
Still, Briles is confident his program will be up to the task.
"From a realistic standpoint, we just feel like this season is just getting started," said Briles. "I know we've played seven games, but we're ready and willing and anxious to get into the grind time, get into where we're fighting and scraping for every single thing that's out there, and that's the way we've always approached the game."
Baylor's high-powered offense is led by quarterback Bryce Petty, who's completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 2,453 yards, 18 touchdowns and just one interception. Lache Seastrunk is averaging 9.1 yards per carry with 869 yards on the ground and 11 touchdowns.
