Mother of Two About to Have Double Mastectomy Holds Dance Party to Beyoncé’s Hit Song in Operating Room (VIDEO)

Deborah Cohan, a mother of two, wasn't going to let a major surgery stop her from having a good time. The 44-year-old California woman prepared for her double mastectomy by making her entire surgical team join her for a six-minute dance-a-thon to Beyoncé's "Get Me Bodied," the Daily Mail reports.

Just a few minutes before her procedure was supposed to start Cohan asked the team of doctors and nurses to dance with her. The group happily showed off their dancing skills right there in the operating room. Cohan looked at ease and happy as she danced and twerked around the room.

She also asked her family, friends and coworkers to join in, which they did. Her coworkers at UCSF Medical Center posted a video of them dancing in the hallway to the same exact song.

"I'm hoping to organize a (quiet) flash mob on post-op day 1 in the hallway of my hospital room at Mt. Zion Hospital in SF ," she wrote on her website. "I have visions of nurses, patients, my community members (and maybe a few surgery residents) transforming the solemn space of a hospital into a vibrant healing ward."

The operating room flash mob was part of a virtual "Get Me Bodied" flash mob. She said she believes dancing would help with her recovery process. The video has since gone viral and Cohan has received hundreds of well-wishes on her website from total strangers.

"Your positive energy is contagious! Wishing you a speedy recovery so we can surely see some more great dancing!" a commenter named Wendy wrote on the website.

"You are such an amazing inspiration to all women! This video will change the rhythm of my life forever. You will dance through this little hiccup with grace and love of man," a commenter named Rosana posted. "Thank you so much for sharing and showing us all how important life is! The whole world smiles with you!!"

Cohan told RighThisMinute.com that she was doing fine and was touched by all the support.

"I am doing great. I'm feeling very spiritually fulfilled," she said. "My muscles are pretty sore, it's going to require some recuperation. I feel like I've done about five thousand push-ups."
