The sixth season of VH1's hit reality TV series "Mob Wives" will be its final season, as previously reported by HNGN, and the show goes back to its roots, returning to Staten Island, N.Y., where it all began. The five OG ladies - Renee Graziano, Drita D'Avanzo, Carla Facciolo, Karen Gravano and Angela "Big Ang" Raiola - all return for the final season, giving the series a proper drama-filled send-off.
In an extended preview of what's to come during Season 6, the ladies each deal with problems in their personal lives and in their friendships with each other.
Drita D'Avanzo
She was once good friends with Facciolo, but the ladies have had a falling out, and D'Avanzo resents Facciolo's newfound friendship with Gravano. But she's moving forward with her life and focusing on her business ventures, which include a makeup line and boutique. She's also taking a page out of Gravano's book - literally - and is planning to write a memoir about her own life and involvement in the mob scene. Her husband, Lee D'Avanzo, served time for his crimes and, now that's he's free, he doesn't want his wife writing about his past.
Angela "Big Ang" Raiola
The matriarch of the group was diagnosed with throat cancer early last year and, in a scene during the extended preview clip, doctors reveal that her cancer has returned, to her lungs. The stress of her diagnosis and treatment, along with the closure of her popular Staten Island bar The Drunken Monkey, takes a toll on her marriage to Neil Murphy. The couple is seen having it out in the clip, and Raiola asks Murphy to leave.
Carla Facciolo
During past seasons, Facciolo has been the quiet, timid one of the group, but she's making sure her voice is heard this season. She stands up for herself against her ex-best friend D'Avanzo and challenges anyone else who does her wrong. "This girl betrayed me," says Carla in the clip, "and I feel like she needs to answer for her actions."
Renee Graziano
In keeping with her strong "old-school" values, Graziano still doesn't like to associate with rats - or people who snitch and betray their friends and family. She takes offense to Gravano's new friend Brittany Fogarty, whose father John Fogarty cooperated with the FBI before serving his prison sentence. But Graziano does approve of newcomer Marissa Jade - the girlfriend of Graziano and D'Avanzo's longtime friend O.Z. - and she introduces Jade to the group.
Karen Gravano
Her relationship with her music producer boyfriend Storm had its ups and downs, and it seems like the couple is struggling to move forward. Gravano confronts Storm during a sit-down dinner to talk about where they stand as a couple, which doesn't end well and she walks out. Gravano, the daughter of notorious mobster Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, befriends Fogarty and bonds with her over the close relationship their fathers had while they served time together in prison - and she stands up for her when Graziano judges Fogarty for her father's past.
In a sneak peek for tonight's season premiere, Graziano meets up with Gravano, Raiola and D'Avanzo at Staten Island's Silver Lake Park to invite them to join her float at the upcoming Mermaid Parade in Coney Island. The ladies agree that dressing up as mermaids will be fun, and Gravano asks if she can invite Fogarty, but Graziano is uncomfortable with letting Fogarty into the group because her father is a "rat," which offends Gravano.
"We don't need to bring anyone else around like that," Graziano tells Gravano. "Everyone's entitled to their own opinion; this is the way I feel. Period."
