With festival season approaching, the lineups to all the major music festivals are being released day-by-day, and while Bonnaroo fans still patiently wait their turn for the official 2016 lineup, the festival's app may have just leaked some huge spoilers.
The Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival will be celebrating their 15th anniversary this year, and some major news regarding the highly anticipated lineup was released earlier this week.
"Bonnaroo alum, Conan O'Brien, will be dropping the 2016 lineup on 'CONAN' next Tuesday at 11/10c on @tbsnetwork," the official Bonnaroo Instagram account wrote. "Get ready to kick off our celebration of 15 Years of Magic!"
While many festival-goers were upset that they'd have to wait another whole week to hear who would be performing this year, it was exciting to hear that funny man Conan O'Brien, who appeared as a comedy act at the festival in 2010 during his "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour," would be making the announcement.
"Next Tuesday, Jan. 19, I will be unveiling the official 2016 Bonnaroo lineup live on our show," O'Brien revealed during his TBS talk show Tuesday night. "So, if you're a fan of music or if you're just a fan of me listing off band names, you don't want to miss it."
Lineup rumors have been going around for about a month now, but the official Bonnaroo mobile app made a huge mistake Wednesday night and accidentally listed a good portion of the lineup for this year's festival, and even though it was only up for about two hours, people immediately noticed, according to Stereo Gum. The leaked version of the lineup, which apparently does not feature any major headliner, pre-headliners or comedians, still listed about 100 artists who we can almost guarantee are confirmed now.
"An obvious technical hiccup has allowed those with the Bonnaroo mobile app to see a portion of the 2016 lineup," Festival Snobs wrote. A similar situation also happened back in 2014.
Reddit users were quick to grab screenshots of the accidentally released lineup, which features major artists and bands like Ellie Goulding, J. Cole, Leon Bridges, Pearl Jam, Third Eye Blind, Death Cab For Cutie, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, LCD Soundsystem and Dead & Company. One user also put together a mock lineup photo based on the leak, with LCD Soundsystem, Pearl Jam and Dead & Company as the apparent three headliners and the rest of the artists in alphabetical order.
"These names have all leaked through the latest update to the mobile app," popular Instagram account Bonnaroo365 wrote. "BUT no headliners were included in this leak."
Another exciting announcement for those visiting The Farm this year is that for the first time, an array of new amenities and improvements have been added, according to the official press release. Great State Park will now feature its own permanent water line, which will allow for 400 permanent toilets, 38 percent of which will be flushable onsite, hundreds of permanent shower stalls, and a large number of newly installed water filling stations.
"It's real! It's happening!" Bonnaroo captioned a photo of what the bathrooms will look like. "We've broke ground on permanent bathrooms, showers and more water refill stations on The Farm for 2016. These renderings are a little sneak peek of what's in the works."
The four-day festival will take place from June 9-12 in Manchester, Tenn. Check out the full pre-released lineup below!
