People are always dying to know what makeup products celebrities are using as they try to copy their flawless complexions and perfect smokey eyes, so whenever a celeb announces that they're coming out with their own line of products, beauty addicts everywhere can't wait to get their hands on something specifically created by their favorite stars. We may only be about two weeks into the New Year, but it looks like there are a lot of exciting celebrity makeup collaborations and collections to look forward to in 2016!
MAC is notoriously known for collaborating with pop stars to release some limited-edition products, and we'll be seeing a few new celebrity inspired collections very soon. In the past, the popular makeup brand has collaborated with artists like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus and Lorde, and the products typically sell out pretty quickly, so it'll be exciting to see what they have in store for the upcoming lines.
Other stars, like Kylie Jenner, have created their very own makeup lines in the past, and the 18-year-old reality star recently announced that there will be a lot more to come from her ever-so-popular and sold-out Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in the next few months. Stars like Gwen Stefani and Demi Lovato have also teamed up with some major brands to release exclusive palettes, and popular YouTube beauty stars are even getting in on the action.
Here are some of the most exciting celebrity makeup products that are set to be released sometime in 2016!
Gwen Stefani X Urban Decay
Stefani released an eyeshadow palette with Urban Decay just a few months ago, and on Jan. 12, her entire Urban Decay Collection was released. The collection includes a blush palette, eight shades of lipstick, six shades of lip liner and an eyebrow powder box. As someone who is known for her style and her perfect red lip, this line was not only exciting for fans, but for the singer herself.
"I went through all my makeup and was like, OK, what are my must-haves?" she told Allure. "Not, like, fashion-shoot-type stuff, but just what I'm legitimately wearing every day. There's not one color in the collection that isn't true to who I am. I didn't consider anyone else-it was really about what I needed."
Ariana Grande MAC Viva Glam Collection
Each year, MAC Cosmetics teams up with a celebrity to be their Viva Glam brand ambassador, and this year, Grande was chosen to create her very own line of makeup within the Viva Glam collection, according to People. In the past, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Fergie have all been Viva Glam ambassadors, so it'll be exciting to see Grande follow in their footsteps!
"I am beyond honored and excited to be working with a brand that stands for and always has stood for EQUALITY," Grande wrote on Instagram. "My lipstick & gloss will be available in January and EVERY PENNY goes to people effected by HIV & AIDS. I have loved & supported @maccosmetics ever since I was a little girl walking through the mall and saw your first #VIVAGLAM girl in the window @rupaulofficial. I'm so honored!!!"
The collection features two lip products, a matte deep dark plum lipstick and a shimmery light pink lipglass. The two gorgeous products were officially released in stores and online on Jan. 13, but act fast, because the limited-edition Viva Glam collections are known for selling out quick!
Mariah Carey MAC Collection
MAC announced in September that a new collection with the pop icon would be hitting shelves soon. It started with the release of her very own shimmery MAC lipstick in December called All I Want, and they then announced that there would be more to come.
"MAC has been my go-to makeup brand for as long as I can remember and I'm so thrilled to be collaborating with them on a lipstick debuting this December, just in time for the holiday season! The champagne frosted 'All I Want' shade is elegant, sophisticated and glamorous," Carey said at the time, according to Glamour. "My MAC Beauty Icon collection will be launching in 2016 and is certain to not disappoint."
Demi Lovato NYC New York Color Collection
Lovato collaborated with NYC New York Color for her Lovatics by Demi eyeshadow palette, which not only features 12 exclusive and stunning nude shades, but will be extremely affordable! The palette is a part of a bigger collection with the makeup brand that is set to be released sometime this year following the release of the eyeshadow palette in January. The rest of the collection is set to include a lip-and-cheek stain in three shades, volumizing mascara and an eyebrow pencil in two colors, all priced between $1.99 and $14.99.
"It's something I haven't done before and it's really exciting for me," she told Seventeen earlier this month. "I'm really impressed with the pigments. The color and quality is really great and I love that it's so affordable. I wear nudes and smokeys all the time, so this palette has everything I need."
Karrueche Tran & ColourPop Cosmetics
KaePop by Karrueche Tran will be the first beauty product release for the model/actress, who is known for always having that perfect summer glow. She has collaborated with the popular, and affordable, brand ColourPop Cosmetics to create matte eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip pencils, a blush, a highlighter and a countour bronzer. The best part is that every product will cost under $10. Tran has been teasing the collection, which will drop on ColourPop.com on Jan. 22, on her Instagram account for a few weeks now.
"The shades look great on any skin color," she told Elle. "[It] appeals to more than just a certain group of women. The colors that I chose are every day, natural tones."
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
While details on Rihanna's very own beauty label, which will apparently be called Fenty Beauty, are still under wraps, she has confirmed that it will definitely be happening sometime very soon.
"That is definitely something I am going to have my hands on and would love to do," she told Refinery29 back in August. "It's something that I've always wanted to do, but I've always had so much on my hands. But, this time, I'm going to make sure it happens. I'm going to find some time between albums and fragrance to do that. I promise."
As for what her fantasy line would include, "There's a lot!" she explained. "Lashes that could just put themselves on...lipstick that doesn't move, but doesn't dry your lips out, that you don't need a liner for. I mean, it sounds so unreal."
MAC & Selena Quintanilla
While this isn't exactly a collaboration, MAC did announce last summer that they would be honoring the late Latin music icon Selena Quintanilla with her very own collection. The multi-product collection is set to be released towards the end of 2016.
"Selena's talent and beauty, inside and out, have left a coulourful, meaningful impact in the world, that has continued to grow over the last two decades," Senior Vice President/Group Creative Director James Gager said in a statement, according to Fashionista. "We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies MAC's philosophy."
"I am so excited that MAC Cosmetics will be releasing a collection in honor of my sister Selena," Suzette Quintanilla said in the same statement. "Helping to create this collection brings me back to all those late night conversations on our tour bus when she spoke of having her own makeup line one day. If Selena were here she would be ecstatic to have this happening. History is being made."
Kylie Jenner Lip Kit
The 18-year-old reality star, who is pretty much known for her lips, released her very own lip kit in November 2015, and it literally sold out in seconds. Lip Kit By Kylie, which was released in three colors, Candy K, Dolce K and True Brown K, includes a matte liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner so fans everywhere could try to replicate her iconic full lip.
While the three original colors are still currently sold out, there are several nearly idential makeup dupes out there to try in the mean time. She has also promised that she has been testing out new shades and that there is much more to come in 2016. Not only will the three original colors be restocked soon, but she also released one of the three brand new shades which will be a part of her Valentine's Day collection, and released sometime before the romantic holiday.
"Very excited to share with you one out of three of my new colors," she wrote on Instagram. "I've been working on a new very exclusive formula that I have absolutely fell in love with!" She even asked that fans comment and help her pick out a name for the rosey-pink shade, and she then announced the next day that it will be called Posie K.
Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics
Hill is a 25-year-old beauty YouTuber and makeup artist and has over 2.6 million YouTube subscribers and 2.2 million Instagram followers. In May 2015, she released a limited-edition highlighter called Champagne Pop with Becca Cosmetics, and it broke Sephora's record for most-purchased product on its first day of release, according to Refinery29. She also created a customized, limited-edition palette with Makeup Geek, which featured nine shades and was released back in October. But for two years now, she has been building her very own makeup line, and it is set to launch with just lipsticks, for now, in February 2016.
"I didn't want people telling me what to do, or controlling me," she said of creating her own brand. "I wanted to make sure that I stayed true to myself."
