'Making A Murderer': Nancy Grace Thinks Steven Avery Is Guilty

HLN host and legal expert Nancy Grace made an appearance on CNN on Wednesday to discuss the Steven Avery case, Us Weekly reported. During her interview, Grace explained why she still believes that Avery is guilty of the rape and murder of Wisconsin photographer Teresa Halbach, a case that has gained popularity since it was featured in the hit Netflix docuseries "Making a Murderer."

"Why do I think he's guilty? I think he's guilty of the murder because he told me to my face Teresa was there in his auto salvage pit the day she goes missing around 2 o'clock," Grace explained in a clip from her CNN interview. "He concealed his identity with *67 to call her twice to get her to come over and then called her after he kills her, letting his identity show up on the phone records going, 'Hey, you never showed up, what happened? But then fast-forward, he tells me she came. So what's the cover-up about?"

She went on to explain that Halbach's remains were later found on Avery's auto salvage lot, including her charred bones, a tooth and ribbons from her jeans.

Avery, a Manitowoc County, Wisc. resident, was charged with Halbach's murder in 2005, and he still maintains that he is innocent of the crime, as HNGN previously reported. He claimed that incriminating evidence was planted against him as retaliation for the $36 million lawsuit he brought against the county and law enforcement for wrongful incarceration after he served 18 years in prison for the 1985 rape of another Manitowoc County woman. He was exonerated of his charges after DNA evidence proved his innocence.

Continuing her ongoing "Making a Murderer" coverage, Grace aired an interview with Avery's ex-fiancée Jodi Stachowski on Wednesday, as previously reported by HNGN. Stachowski provided new details about Avery's character and also said she believed he is guilty.

"He's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," Stachowski said in her HLN interview. "Semi-nice person and then behind closed doors, he's a monster."
