The Florida State Seminoles visit the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday in an ACC game. Kickoff is at 12 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast HERE (FSU) and HERE (WAKE), or watch it live on ABC.
No. 2 Florida State looks to remain undefeated when they BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, NC. Beyond keeping perfect, a win against the Deacons will secure the Seminoles a spot in the ACC championship game, according to ESPN.
The Seminoles are coming off a 41-14 win last weekend over Miami. Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is making a convincing bid for the Heisman Trophy with 27 total touchdowns. He's completed 149 of 212 passes for 2,502 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions; he also has three rushing touchdowns.
Despite Wake Forest's 4-5 record, Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher doesn't want his team underestimating the opponent.
"It's up to (the team leadership) to make sure we understand the importance of every game," Fisher said, via ESPN. "Hopefully we've gotten that across, and we're going to practice the same way for every game no matter who (the opponent) is."
Wake Forest will be without leading receiver Michael Campanaro, who broke his collarbone in the first quarter of last week's game against Syracuse; he's expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
"He's the guy we go to and when he's out, it makes it tough," Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe said. "Going forward without Camp, somebody's got to decide if they want to be that guy."
Campanaro won't be easy to replace. The receiver has 67 receptions for 803 yards and six touchdowns; their next leading receiver, Jonathan Williams, has 15 receptions for 212 yards.
The Deacons understand they're entering Saturday's game as the underdogs.
"Whenever you play Florida State it's going to be a big game, whether they are No. 2 in the country or whether they're having a down year," Wake Forest defensive end Kristopher Redding said. "We've always been underdogs in the game."
