Comedian Heather McDonald revealed in a recent interview on Matt Weiss and Theo Von's "Allegedly" podcast that she lived in fear of Chelsea Handler while she worked for her on the E! tv show "Chelsea Lately." The 45-year-old was a writer and a round table guest on the show, which premiered in 2007, according to the Daily Mail.
"I lived in fear, 100% lived in fear. I enjoyed my time there, I was happy, but something could happen and my heart would be beating and I'd be like 'is this it?'" she said.
"Somehow I managed to keep surviving," McDonald said in the promo clip provided to TMZ.
In the preview clip, McDonald also said that she had no clue that Handler was leaving the show, and the news was delivered as a surprise on her way to a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.
"Her manager was on a red carpet and said Chelsea, the show, was ending this year," McDonald said on the podcast, according to the New York Daily News.
"I think she's a good person, I don't agree with how she treats relationships in her life," she added. "I think she's missing out by dumping people. When you're in her life and you're her friend, it's the greatest thing. She makes you feel so special until you're not."
Handler signed a seven-year contract with Netflix after leaving her late night E! talk show, and she is launching a new four-part documentary series called "Chelsea Does," which premieres on Jan. 23 on Netflix.
