Sony has released another viral video advertisement for the PlayStation 4 as part of its ongoing #4ThePlayers marketing campaign. The ads come just days before the release of the next-generation console from Sony.
The new video, which is heavily rooted in "Assassin's Creed 4: The Black Flag" territory, comes just after the release of the original 'Since 1995' ad, which kicked off the campaign. However, this new advertisement is more like the follow up ad from the campaign which featured the fake TV spot for the Hadouken Cabs company, a clear reference to the Street Fighter series.
The latest ad is another fake commercial for the E. Kenway & Sons Bespoke Tailors retailer. It boasts a long history of providing well tailored clothes to assassins and pirates for decades. It even goes as far as to show some of the armor form the game and gives a tongue-in-cheek explanation of how the small tailoring business has been there throughout history to dress the world's greatest killers as fine gentlemen.
According to IGN, its likely that this is a reminder to fans that "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" will have a great deal of Sony PlayStation 4 exclusive content. However, the viral video ad also serves the purpose of creating a nice introduction to get people excited for the week leading up to the console's launch.
Sony's PlayStation 4 hits store shelves just in time for the holiday season on Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Nov. 29 in Europe. It will go head-to-head in sales against its rival from Microsoft as it releases its own next-generation console, the Xbox One.
