The CW has given three news shows full seasons—“The Tomorrow People”, “Reign”, and “The Originals.”
Each show has given plots that have provided fans with questions and anticipation for the episodes coming in the following weeks.
“In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said according to EW.com. “Our on-air ratings are up year to year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially. We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season. With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”
Both “Reign” and “The Originals” began with strong starts to their plots. “Reign” immediately presented a love triangle and a threat to its main character's life. “The Originals” probably came in with the most fanfare since three of its main characters developed fans on “The Vampire Diaries.”
“The Tomorrow People” seemed to get off to a slow start where its plot is concerned. However, in the past few episode the plot has picked up and, according to the preview for Wednesdays’ episode, will continue to do so.
“The Originals” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c. “The Tomorrow People” airs Wednesdays at 9/8c. “Reign” airs Thursdays at 9/8c .
