Matthew Perry ‘Can’t Remember’ Three Seasons Of ‘Friends’ Due To Substance Abuse

The hit '90s TV show "Friends" propelled Matthew Perry into TV stardom and made the actor a household name, but he recently revealed that he was not all there during some time periods on the show due to his substance abuse issues. Perry got candid with BBC Radio 2 host Chris Evans about his past addiction problems and even revealed there were season of the show he did not even remember filming.

When Evans asked the actor about his least favorite episode on "Friends," Perry told the host that his personal problems erased some of his memories from that time. "Oh my goodness," he said. "I think the answer is I don't remember three years of it. So none of those ... somewhere between Season 3 and 6."

Perry then admitted that "a little bit of the time, I was a little out of it, yeah."

Perry previously spent time in rehab twice for pills and alcohol and later went on and founded the sober-living facility the Perry House.

"I had a big problem with alcohol and pills and I couldn't stop," Perry told People in 2013. "Eventually things got so bad that I couldn't hide it, and then everybody knew."

Perry is the only actor out of the "Friends" cast who will not be in attendance at the taping of NBC's "Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows," as HNGN previously reported. Instead the actor begun his preparations for the London West End play "The End of Longing."
