Microsoft Releases News App For iOS

Microsoft has released a news app for iOS users. News Pro keeps readers up-to-date on work related stories. The app uses LinkedIn or Facebook accounts to customize the news it delivers to your phone, according to Engadget.

There are three main areas in the app including a home tab, an explore tab and a simple profile tab where users can adjust the settings. In the explore tab, there is an extensive list of industries and companies to select and the app will provide news on the selected topics. The app loads the news story on a web page and gives you the option to share, comment or like the article.

Microsoft Garage designed the app, Fortune reports. It has also created the Mimicker Alarm app and the Selfie app.

The use of Bing News and social networks sets News Pro apart from other news apps including Apple News, according to TechCrunch. It also has a speedy mode that gives reader a quick loaded version of the news story.
