New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith and Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings began a Twitter feud. The two NBA players exchanged shots on Wednesday after Jennings seemingly took a jab at Smith's brother, Chris, playing in the NBA.
Pro Basketball Talk reported the feud, which began Wednesday evening after Jennings questioned why J.R.'s brother has an NBA job while two of Jennings' friends - Pooh Jeter and Bobby Brown - are playing in China.
RT @BrandonJennings: Wait wait wait JR smith brother is in the NBA but @PoohJeter & @BBROWNLAU isn't. Call me hater but not Rollin!!!

Jennings deleted the tweet, but not before it came to the attention of J.R.
No respect for these lil kids who pop at the mouth on twitter an then want to delete they tweets! #GrowUp! #ManUp! @TheOnlyCSmith0 #Facts! — JR Smith (@TheRealJRSmith) November 14, 2013
"Might call some of my Number street homies an put #Detroit on smash for a min! #DeadSerious," Smith posted in a tweet, which was later deleted (via PBT).
No war! But ain't no #peace RT @TheOnlyCSmith0: I'm a classy no twitter war for me — JR Smith (@TheRealJRSmith) November 14, 2013
Don't hype this it's not beef. It's just basketball talk. I know how twitter get!!!
— BRANDON JENNINGS (@BrandonJennings) November 14, 2013
"Here we go sub tweeting again! I didn't hear nothing when @joshselby32 got in them pockets! Money on me all day everyday go get who u want!" J.R. wrote in another tweet, which was also later deleted.
The Selby tweet, as PBT points out, likely refers to Selby dunking on Jennings in 2011.
Chris, an undrafted 2012 free agent, was signed by the Knicks this summer and will play in the D-League. Multiple news outlets, including PBT and Fansided, have suggested signing Chris was a move to ensure J.R. re-signed with the Knicks over the summer.
Jennings isn't the only one to question why Chris is in the NBA, either.
"With the Knicks coaching staff, they believe Chris Smith doesn't even have the talent to be an NBA Development League player - never mind worthy of a roster spot. One opposing GM called him 'maybe the worst player in the history of the [NBA] summer league,'" Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski wrote on Tuesday.
The Knicks visit the Pistons on Nov. 19.
