Chris Pratt is reportedly being considered for a role in Universal's upcoming "Jurassic World" 3D film.
According to The Wrap, the movie is in early stages of production but sources say Pratt is is up for the lead role.
"Pratt would have to navigate the 'Jurassic' shooting schedule with that of his TV series 'Parks and Recreation' - provided it gets renewed by NBC - as well as overcome several other obstacles in the way. Pratt doesn't have any projects lined up aside from his TV commitment," the media site reported. "Josh Brolin had been circling the lead role in "Jurassic World" though talks failed to lead to a deal."
Universal has not confirmed the casting rumors revolving around Pratt. The actors linked to 3D sequel so far are Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and the young Ty Simpkins.
"Despite the fact I probably have food in the freezer older than this young actor, Simpkins has worked before with producer Steven Spielberg, who is producing with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley," Deadline reported in October.
"Simpkins made his feature debut in the Spielberg-directed 'War Of The Worlds,' opposite Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. Last year, Simpkins starred in the genre smash Insidious, and reprises in the sequel. His other credits include 'Revolutionary Road,' 'Pride And Glory,' and the Kate Winslet-starrer 'Little Children," according to Deadline.
Another actor who is rumored to be up for a lead role in "Jurassic World" is "Pacific Rim" actor Idris Elba, according to JurassicWorld-Movie.com:
"It's been common knowledge for a while now that Jurassic World Director Colin Trevorrow, and Producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall have been extremely busy building the ensemble cast for Jurassic Park 4, so it's not totally out of the question that the trio would be eyeing such talent as Idris Elba; whose starred in a few high profile films recently - Pacific Rim, Prometheus and THOR to name a few."
