Jean-Claude Van Damme Split Stunt Video Goes Viral, Volvo Confirms It's Real (WATCH)

Jean-Claude Van Damme has been known for impressive flexibility, particularly in the legs. In fact, high kicks were a staple of many of his action movies like "Kick Boxer" and "Bloodsport." Now the 53-year-old actor has made a viral video for Volvo that shows that, even as an older man, he's still got it.

"I've had my ups and downs. My fair share of bumpy roads and heavy winds. That's what made me what I am today, says Can Damme as a voice over at the beginning of the video. "Now I stand here before you. What you see is a body crafted to perfection."

The video went up on YouTube Wednesday and has since garnered more than six million views. The camera begins with a close-up on Van Damme's face. It then pans out to reveal that he is standing on the rear-view mirrors of two side-by-side trucks from Volvo. The trucks begin moving backwards on an empty runway. The trucks then move in reverse and separate just enough for him to do a full split between the two.

According to IGN, there was safety equipment that was digitally removed from the shot. He wore a harness on himself just in case the worst happened. However, this does not diminish the stunt in any way as Volvo has confirmed that everything you see actually happened.

The stunt was designed to show off the "stability and precision of Volvo Dynamic Steering," which is a goal that you could argue it accomplishes very thoroughly.

Have a look at the video below and tell us what you think of the stunt. While we're on the subject of Jean-Claude Can Damme, comment and tell us your favorite film starring the muscle man. My vote is for "Bloodsport" but there's a case to be made for "Hard Target." Tell us where you stand.
