Actress Janet Hubert had some choice words for Fox News correspondent Stacey Dash. The actress, best known for her role as Aunt Vivian on the hit '90s show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," made an appearance on Huffington Post Live on Thursday and called out Dash for her anti-B.E.T. and anti-Black History Month comments in response to the controversy surrounding the lack of ethnic diversity among the 2016 Oscar nominees.
Hubert watched a clip of Dash's "Fox & Friends" segment from last week, where she called for the elimination of networks like B.E.T., award shows like the Image Awards and Black History Month in order to create "integration" in Hollywood, and she could be seen sitting with her arms crossed over her chest as she watched.
"You really want me to tell you what I make of that?" Hubert, 60, asked. "Somebody needs to slap the little bit of black she got on her off of her, okay? The little bit of black she got on her, off of her, because girlfriend has worked on B.E.T. more than most actresses have."
She explained that she thinks Dash is using her gig at Fox News to create "sensationalism" and earn a check.
"Stacey is a bit of a media ho," Hubert said. "She absolutely puts the struggle way back. It's just rude and wrong. If we didn't have B.E.T., if we didn't have those kinds of awards, we'd have nothing. We'd have nothing to honor those wonderful performances whether you agree with it or not. And as far as Black History Month is concerned, I don't even need to touch that because it's so stupid."
Hubert also defended her comments against her former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" co-star Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who called for a boycott against the Oscars because of the lack of ethnic diversity among nominees.
