The makers of "Fukrey" have announced a sequel of 2013 hit comedy with the original cast, media reports said Sunday.
The sequel - "Fukrey 2" - will go on the floors in August with the same cast of the original movie, including Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha.
"When we were promoting 'Dil Dhadakne Do', we were constantly being asked why we aren't spinning sequels since several of our films could lend themselves to franchises," producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, according to The Times of India.
"Since the characters of 'Fukrey' became really popular, we have decided to retain the original cast, along with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba," he added. Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Farhan Akhtar produced the original film.
The sequel will be shot in Delhi like the first film. The makers have also decided to retain movie's key characters - Hunny (Samrat), Choocha ( Sharma), Zafar (Ali) Lali (Singh) and Bholi Punjaban (Chadha), according to Daily Bhaskar. The sequel will take characters' lives forward and out of college.
"The story will take the characters' lives forward but everything else will remain the same. We don't want to change the north Indian setting," Sidhwani said, according to IBN Live.
