Make A Wish Foundation Helps Miles Live His Dream of Being Batman in San Francisco

Who says super heroes do not exist in real? These mighty beings live through the dreams and wishes of every young kid. The best example of this is a five-year- old child, Miles, who lived his dream to be Batman on Friday.

Miles, a leukemia survivor had wished only for a Batman costume but Friday morning came with an unexpected surprise for little Miles who got the chance to be a real Batman for one day. The event was organized by the charitable trust, Make a Wish Foundation, which was celebrating Mile's victory over cancer after four years.

As soon as Miles dressed up as Batman, he heard an appeal from the San Francisco Police Chief, Greg Suhr, asking for help from the Batman kid. Miles went ahead and saved a young lady tied to a cable car track on a major urban road, reports BBC.

The Batkid marched across several destinations on the roads of San Francisco, which turned into Gotham City for him, rescuing people. He was escorted by policemen who were also dressed as Batmen. Miles also stopped a bank theft with the help of these impersonators and defeated his nemesis, the Riddler. The authorities fully participated in the enactments, posing as if they were really threatened and expected little Miles to come and rescue them.

The policemen accompanied Miles on bikes and cleared his way through the large crowd that had gathered to cheer their cute superhero. More than 10, 000 people gathered on the roads of San Francisco to see Miles' dream come true.

Miles travelled to the AT&T park to accomplish his next mission; defusing a bomb at the park planted by his enemy Penguin and eventually saved the life of the mascot for the San Francisco baseball team.

Finally Miles was honored with a key to the city by the San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.

The event turned Miles into a social media star for the day. He was greeted by millions of users across different social networking sites. President Obama and Britney Spears figured in the list. The President sent a video message to Miles saying, "Way to go, Miles! Way to save Gotham," reports Eonline.

The Americana singer, Britney Spears left a message for Miles on Twitter saying, " Awww this makes me smile! Miles really is a superhero and inspiration to all." Ryan Seacrest, the famous radio personality, tweeted, "my eyes are raining over these pics of Batkid's big day.wow."

Miles' parents are overwhelmed with the public response and their son being a star for the day. "The scale this big is just overwhelming for us. It's nothing we ever dreamed of," said Nick Scott, his father, reports abclocal. "It's really neat to see how many people have got together for a stranger they don't know and show support for; it's heartwarming."
