Google is making your festive shopping more exciting by opening new temporary installations called Winter Wonderlabs, where consumers can visit, try out latest Google products and indulge in some fun.
Google is definitely considering a new marketing strategy. After its large mysterious barge project in San Francisco Bay aimed at showing latest technologies, Google is offering a seasonal treat for festive shoppers. The web giant has opened new showrooms in six U.S. cities. These temporary installments called the Winter Wonderlabs, display Google's latest gadgets such as Nexus 7, Chromebooks and Chromecast video streaming devices for your smart TV. Alas! No Google Glass.
Although Google Glass is one of the most fascinating products in Google's lineup, and as much as we could love to try it out, the web giant may be reserving it for its floating cultural exhibition.
The Winter Wonderlab offers not just the usual in-store experience, but adds more fun. Inside the Wonderlab, there are circular rooms like an igloo that allow visitors to enjoy a snowfall, fake one of course. Google also creates amazing slow-motion videos of about 20-22 seconds, and they are yours to "keep and share."
"This holiday season, you're invited to the Winter Wonderlab presented by Google," Google says in its new website dedicated to its Wonderlab. "Check out new gadgets like the Nexus 7, make a slow motion video in the giant snow globe, or just escape the holiday hustle with endless games, music, and videos."
Fun side apart, Google is in here for business too. The latest Google feature devices such as the Nexus 7, Chromebooks, and Chromecast, are available to test out and purchase.
The stores are available in limited U.S. cities and it is unclear if Google plans on adding the Wonderlab to more cities in the near future. Currently, Google has listed six Wonderlab locations, including New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California.
Several Twitter users have shared their experience on the social network along with the link to their Slow-mo video inside the large snow globe. Most of the users' experiences are linked to a location in Bryant Park rink.
