With the PlayStation 4 coming off of its opening weekend, and likely causing many a fake illness from people calling out of work on Monday, all that's left for Xbox fans is to wait until the November 22 launch of the new next-gen console from Microsoft, The Xbox One. Now, new information about the company's plans for that day hint that people won't be disappointed.
Microsoft will celebrate the release of the Xbox One with a live event that can be streamed on Xbox.com and Spike TV. The headline event will happen at New York City's Best Buy Theater with a live performance by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, according to DigitalTrends.
The show will be open to the first 1,000 fans who line up outside the theater and purchase an Xbox One console or game will win access to the show live. However, anyone with an active Internet connection can stream the event to his or her computer.
Unfortunately this won't be much fun to fans living in the west coast. Luckily for them, Microsoft has a live event happening just for them in West Coast Time at Milk Studios with a performance by deadmau5. The events will be hosted like high-profile launch parties complete with game stations that offer attendes the chance to try out an assortment of launch titles including "Dead Rising 3," "Forza Motorsport 5," "Ryse: Son of Rome" and many more.
All those who wish to attend the NYC and L.A. events must be above 18 years-old. Fans will be able to line up between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. respectively.
"Today we invite millions of Xbox fans around the world to join us for the launch of Xbox One, beginning on Nov. 21 as we count down the final hours to the launch of Xbox One," Microsoft VP of Marketing and Strategy Yusuf Mehdi said in a prepared statement. "Xbox One will be the biggest launch in the history of Xbox and we can't wait to celebrate with our fans," Microsoft wrote on its announcement page.
