England, which is leading the five-match series 2-0, is now looking to seal the series with a win in the third ODI against the struggling hosts. The visitors registered a 39-run victory in the first ODI at Blomfontein on Wednesday. They also thrashed South Africa by five wickets in the second ODI on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
"I felt we were about 20 short, 290-300 would have been ideal. Credit to the opposition, they out-thought us at times. Jos Buttler played an exceptional knock but they managed the innings really well early on with Alex Hales and Joe Root, and they set it up for a guy like Jos to finish it. Hopefully we'll get it to 2-2 on the Highveld and get it back to Cape Town for a decider," South African skipper AB de Villiers said after losing the second ODI, according to BBC Sports.
South Africa is hosting England for four Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is. The visitors have won the preceding Test series by 2-1. The series loss also cost South Africans their number one ICC Test Ranking.
