Denver Broncos RUMORS: Von Miller Expected To Receive Franchise Tag

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller is arguably one of the best defensive players in the entire NFL. Miller has been a leader on the Broncos' top ranked defense and will look to make his presence felt Sunday night in Super Bowl 50.

Miller will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but Denver's front office won't let the former first round pick walk, as they plan to place the franchise tag on Miller this offseason and then will look to work out a deal, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Reports have already surfaced that Miller wants to be the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, and many expect the talented pass rusher to get a record contract. Miller has developed into a leader for the Broncos and has really shown maturity since hiring his life coach, according to Rapoport.

The Broncos linebacker is a key reason for why Denver will play in Super Bowl 50, as he had a dominant performance in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. Miller recorded five combined tackles, 2.5 sacks and an interception to help lead the Broncos to an AFC Championship.

The Broncos have plenty offseason decisions to make following Super Bowl 50, and backup quarterback Brock Osweiler's future with the franchise is likely the biggest. The Broncos are reportedly expected to keep Miller, but it will be interesting to follow what happens with Osweiler. Broncos starting quarterback Peyton Manning has reportedly told his close friends that Super Bowl 50 will be his last game, which only makes Osweiler's future with the franchise more important.

The former second round draft pick produced on the field this season, completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,967 yards with 10 touchdowns to six interceptions. The Broncos' front office will likely look to keep Osweiler in Denver, but it will have to be at the right price.
