The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Stefan Doesn't Get Along With a Chair [WATCH]; How Bad Are His Memories Tormenting Him?

When we last left Stefan he had just killed Silas in the hopes of living happily ever after. Instead, he soon realized that killing the witch did not stop the torture coming from the memories of his time in the safe.

In the preview for next week’s episode, we got a glimpse into how the memories are affecting Stefan. Katherine tried to help him and as payment for her kindness he begins to viciously choke her.

Thanks to a sneak peek provided exclusively to the Entertainment Weekly website, we get to see another instance in which Stefan is going mad.

At the beginning of the video, Stefan is sitting in front of the fire as Damon makes his way into the room. The elder Salvatore and Stefan has apparently been invited to a college party by Elena and is sharing the news with his younger brother. Pretty soon we get to see Stefan’s face as he sits in the chair (which happens to be Damon’s reading chair) and is dazed. It is apparent Stefan is going through another round of tormenting memories and unfortunately for the chair, it pays for Stefan’s torment. Pretty soon Damon realizes Stefan isn’t listening to him and walks between Stefan and the fireplace to see what’s wrong.

“You ok?,” Damon asks his brother.

“Yea I’m fine,” Stefan replies.

Damon asks, “How about my favorite reading chair?”

Stefan looks down to see he’s dug his fingers inside the handle of the chair.
