Galaxy S4 owners received the Android 4.3 update a week ago that has unfortunately resulted in some serious issues for the smartphones.
Android 4.3 was rolled out by AT& for Samsung Galaxy S4 owners in the United States who were eagerly awaiting the update for months. But the recent roll out has reportedly caused problems in the Samsung Galaxy S4 devices that compelled the mobile carrier to call off the update as of now, reports Android Police.
The major U.S. carriers have been waiting for long to receive the Android 4.3 from Samsung. The Jelly Bean update will make the recent Samsung Galaxy devices compatible with the latest wearable tech, Galaxy gear, that has not been received well in the market. Along with complementing Gear, the Android 4.3 update was supposed to bring in many additional features like TouchWiz user interface, support for ANT+ heartrate monitors, fitness gadgets and improved touch keypad.
However, the roll out has allegedly bricked many of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones. As of now, AT&T has maintained complete silence on the matter, silently withdrawing the update.
A recent post on Gottabemobile reveals that it's not only AT&T but most of the U.S. mobile carrier services have halted the Android 4.3 update for the time being. U.S. Cellular, which has temporarily deferred the launch of the Android 4.3 update, claims the suspension to be an initiative on Samsung's end.
The Android 4.3 update has affected the Samsung Galaxy S3 buyers in the UK also, reveals a recent post on BBC. With the Android 4.3 update the battery drains out faster, apps and the alarms do not work going by the complaints posted by S3 owners on the official Samsung page on Facebook and Twitter.
One of the recent Facebook post reads, "Samsung's so-called apology is derisory to say the least. I can't even answer a call now or a txt message. Music will not play and the camera is useless. I have to recharge mine 3 times a day and it constantly freezes. It's a £500 coaster at the moment."
Samsung has acknowledged the matter and has asked for some more time to come up with a fix for the UK customers. "We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility," said Samsung in a statement.
