Kelly Clarkson is pregnant! The "Stronger" singer announced the baby news on Twitter just one week after telling Jay Leno that she and her husband Brandon Blackstock were trying to expand their family. Clarkson helps raise Blackstock's two children from a previous relationship - Savannah, 11 and Seth, 7.
"I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)" she tweeted.
On Nov. 11 the singer appeared on "The Tonight Show" and told Leno that she was desperately trying to get pregnant.
"[We want a baby] like now! Practice makes perfect!" she told Leno. "We do, we do. We're trying, trying, trying."
She told Leno that she never considered having kids of her own before but raising Savannah and Seth changed her mind.
"I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five," she said.
Leno interrupted Clarkson and asked her if she was already pregnant jokingly explaining that he can never get a celebrity mom to break the baby news on his show.
"I always get these stars who come on and go, 'I'm thinking about having a baby,' and then the next week they go on 'Ellen' and announce it there," he said. "So I'm asking you, are you pregnant? Remember, you're under oath!"
Clarkson wouldn't reveal if she was expecting or not and told the host that she and Blackstock didn't want to announce anything yet. The exciting news comes just one month after the two married in a private Tennessee ceremony.
Clarkson and Blackstock eloped at Blackberry Farm, a luxury resort in Walland, Tenn. Clarkson's mother, Jeanne Taylor told Celebuzz that the singer originally had a big wedding planned but because of her busy schedule she decided to scrap the elaborate ceremony and quietly marry Blackstock.
"[Kelly] was so afraid we might be upset. But we were fine with it. I had known that she was under a lot of stress. And we just wanted her to be happy and not stressed out. I think the biggest thing for us to do was to allow her to do what she wanted to do," Taylor said.
