NCIS TV News: 10-Day Marathon to Occur in Japan; Fox Japan's Attempt at Guinness Book of World Records

All you avid “NCIS” fans not in the country of Japan get ready to be very jealous of the “NCIS” fans in the country of Japan.

According to TVGuide.com, Fox Japan plans to go for the Guinness World Record for the longest, continuous transmission of a TV Series. This attempt will be an “NCIS” marathon which will continue from 11.p.m. on Sunday, Dec 29 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday January 8.

Executive Producer and showrunner Gary Glasberg recently shared his excitement.

"Ten full days of ‘NCIS’!" showrunner Glasberg said in a statement, according to TVGuide. "I wish the cast and crew could be in Japan to witness this extraordinary accomplishment. What a wonderful gift to ring in the New Year. Thank you to all our fans worldwide!"

That’s 10 days of nonstop Gibbs and the gang. The marathon will begin with the series’ pilot and end with the Season 10 Finale. Season 11 beings in Japan during February 2014.

In other “NCIS” news, many fans have finally gotten to develop an opinion about Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham). In her first case on the show, Bishop was able to help Gibbs & co. figure out who was behind a SecNav security breach.

Prior to Wickersham’s debut, Glasberg described her character according to TVLine.com, as “bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism.”

This description was true. However she still presented some surprises.

“NCIS” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.com.
