Sam Smith opened up about his nearly 50-pound weight loss and revealed the secret to his transformation on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards on Monday night. "I've just not eaten like a pig anymore - that's what I'm doing, basically," said Smith, when asked about the secret to his new leaner look, according to People.
The 23-year-old singer also went on to describe the struggles associated with losing weight. "It's very, very difficult," he said, Entertainment Tonight reported. "I love food so much so it's a constant battle. It's always going to be a battle but I'm trying my best."
Smith has always been open about his weight loss struggles and even said that being called "fat" would upset him more than being called an anti-gay slur.
"If someone called me fat, that affects me way more than someone calling me a f-----t," he said last year on the Australian version of "60 minutes."
"I think just because I've accepted that, if someone calls me a f-----t, it's like, I am gay and I'm proud to be gay so there's no issues there. If someone calls you fat, that's something I want to change," he added.
Last year, the four-time Grammy winner credited "Eat. Nourish. Glow." author Amelia Freer for his slim and trim appearance and health-conscious living, as HNGN previously reported.
The "Stay with Me" singer sparked major concerns over his health a few days ago after he shared an Instagram photo of himself looking scrawnier.
