Lady Gaga paid a touching tribute to the late rock legend David Bowie at the 2016 Grammy Awards last night. The singer performed a medley of the 10 best-known songs of the singer, who passed away Jan. 10 after a long cancer battle, alongside Chic pioneer and producer of Bowie's 1983 album "Let's Dance" Nile Rodgers, according to Variety.

Bowie's illustrious life, career and legacy were emphasized in the performance that was filled with high-energy and where Gaga transformed into the legend's renowned alter ego Ziggy Stardust, according to Digital Spy.

Gaga has made no secret of her love for Bowie. She thanked him for being her "inspiration" in the liner notes for her debut album "The Fame," and has said that "Rebel Rebel" is one of her favorite pop songs of all time, according to Rolling Stone.

Ahead of her live tribute performance for the rock legend, Gaga had Bowie's face tattooed on the left side of her torso, which she shared images of on Snapchat and Twitter Feb. 13, HNGN previously reported.
