She may not be quite ready to release her new single, but you can hear Hilary Duff's voice on a brand-new Dora the Explorer special, "Dora's Ice Skating Spectacular," in which the 26-year-old star sings and even raps about her character's love of figure skating.
Set to premiere Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr., the new special is a winter wonderland animated adventure featuring Dora, her monkey Boots and friends, including Duff's character the Ice Witch who sings and raps a song called "I'm the Best."
"I had so much fun playing the role of the 'Ice Witch' on Dora the Explorer, a show that is loved by so many children around the world including my own son," Duff told Nick Jr. "Dora is such a positive role-model for kids and it was an honor to be featured alongside the coolest little explorer around."
It's a fitting new voice role for the mom of one-year-old son Luca, though her next music role will likely take a much more adult turn.
Earlier this month, Duff took to Twitter to dispel rumors that she and husband Mike Comrie are trying for a second baby, tweeting, "It's ridiculous....The only baby I'm working on is my album."
Speaking of which, Duff hasn't released a full-length album since 2007's "Dignity" under her former label Hollywood Records, and during a Twitter Q&A session, she explained that her new music will feature more electronic dance music (EDM). Back in September, the star hinted that the name of her new single may be called "Better Days," and revealed that she's been working with singer-songwriter Billy Mann, who has created hits for artists like Robyn, Celine Dion and the Backstreet Boys, according to the Huffington Post.
And while it's between a while since "Dignity," Duff has released several new songs since '07, including "Reach Out" and "Holiday," which were featured on her greatest hits compilation, as well as the track "Any Other Day" for the "What Goes Up" soundtrack.
On Nov. 7, Duff revealed on Twitter that she's written a new song called "Outlaw" with Lindy Robbins (One Direction, Demi Lovato) and producer Ian Kirkpatrick.
