Marvel RUMORS: Samuel L. Jackson In ‘Thor: Ragnarok?’

Long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the world-devouring box office champion that it is today, Disney signed Samuel L. Jackson to a nine-picture deal as Nick Fury. At the time, other studios laughed, thinking Disney and Marvel could never pull off the ambitious plans they were setting in motion. Fast-forward to today, and the Mouse House's superhero properties are enjoying the last laugh as they head straight to the bank.

With just two films left on his contract, fans are beginning to wonder when and where Jackson's Nick Fury will pop up again. According to Gold Coast Bulletin, his next appearance may come in "Thor: Ragnarok," which is also set to feature Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. Gotta love this shared universe.

However, this remains an unconfirmed rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. It would make more sense to save Fury's final two MCU appearances for the upcoming two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" series. However, we also can't rule out the possibility that Fury is following up on his report about the Hulk's whereabouts at the conclusion of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is why he's showing up in "Ragnarok." Fury has long trusted Bruce Banner, and its in his best interest to track him down quickly and quietly following the events of "Age of Ultron." Narratively speaking, "Ragnarok" can fit him in easily before all the action heads to space.

Just because Jackson only has two more films on his Marvel docket doesn't mean he couldn't sign up for more. While speaking to Collider last year, Jackson made it apparent that he wants to stay with the MCU for as long as he can.

"Of course I'm interested in returning," he said. "I'm looking for a contract extension right now, yeah. I'm looking to re-up."

"Thor: Ragnarok" will close out the MCU's Asgardian trilogy similar to how "Captain America: Civil War" will finish Steve Rogers' solo arc. "Ragnarok" will arrive on Nov. 3, 2017.
