Tesla Motors and Radio Flyer have collaborated in the release of a $500 toy car that children can drive. The Tesla Model S for Kids is a replica of the actual electric car that was released by the car company in 2012.
The toy car runs on a lithuim-ion battery, and it's featured with actual working headlights and a sound system, according to New York Magazine. It also has a spacious trunk that can fit juice boxes or stuffed animals, Forbes noted.
For an additional cost, which can push the total price up to $800, the car can be customized with other features like paint colors, wheels and a personalized license plate. However, it's only fitted for children between the ages of six to eight, or those weighing under 81 pounds. For safety reasons, the car's top speed is at 6 mph.
"The baby Model S is quite fun," Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, according to USA Today.
The Tesla Model S for Kids will ship to buyers in the U.S. in May. Pre-orders are already being accepted on the official site.
