Julianne Hough is stepping away from the judges' table on "Dancing With the Stars." After three seasons on the panel, the 27-year-old actress and professional dancer confirmed she will not be returning as a judge for the upcoming 22nd season of ABC's dance competition series.
"I will miss being on the panel for Season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing," she told People. "The pro dancers, producers and crew at 'DWTS' will always be my family."
Hough joined the "DWTS" as a pro dancer from Season 4 until Season 8. During her time on the show, she won two Mirror Ball trophies with celebrity partners Apolo Anton Ohno (Season 4) and Hélio Castroneves (Season 5).
The "Grease: Live" star served as a judge for Seasons 19, 20 and 21.
Despite the sad news of her departure, the dancer-turned-actress promised she would not be leaving the show permanently, saying, "I promise it's not the last you'll see of me in the ballroom."
Producer Rob Wade told People: "Julianne will always be a part of the 'Dancing With the Stars' family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future."
While fans will definitely miss Hough's presence, viewers will have some familiar faces to look forward to, including Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tolioni and Len Goodman, who will return for the 22nd installment of "DWTS" after taking the previous season off to spend time with his family in England and sit on the judge's panel for "Strictly Come Dancing."
"Dancing With the Stars" returns to ABC March 21.
