A console release is always followed by one or the other hardware issue and Microsoft's next generation console, Xbox One, is no exception. Xbox One was released on Nov. 22 and many console holders have reported several hardware problems.
Many Xbox One fans are not happy with the latest console from Microsoft as there are many technical glitches on the machine that have nearly made the device non-usable. With even less than a week into the console it's not clear whether the problem is wide spread or limited to a few unfortunates.
Some of the Xbox One owners have reportedly been shipped broken Blue-Ray drives, reports, itproportal. When trying to insert a disc, the users are greeted with a shrill sound that mocks at the user's $499 investment.
Others have reportedly received Xbox One consoles bearing scuff marks. Long scratches, missing plastic parts on the console are the most common user complaints, reveals a recent post on Neowin. Also some of the consoles were making unwanted sounds while booting and showing the 'green screen of death'. Green screen of death appears when the screen freezes at the start.
The official site was down for quite a few hours before the console launch and some of the users have been repeatedly denied access to the site over the weekend. Many users were not able to download the day one patch released by Microsoft to use the online features on the console.
The console developer has acknowledged the issues but did not elaborate much on the upcoming resolutions for the problems. "We know that with a hardware launch of this magnitude customers will have questions and we have many avenues for customers to get the answers they need and get back in the game as soon as possible. Rest assured we plan to take care of our customers," said Microsoft, reports Winbeta.
Microsoft has made a statement this weekend stating that the Xbox One holders were entitled to a replacement even prior to returning the defective one.
"Customers have the option for us to send a replacement console right away without waiting until they have returned their old one. This means a customer only has to wait a matter of days, rather than weeks to get back up and running," said Microsoft, in a statement.
The Redmond-based tech giant has also provided a contact list for users experiencing any technical glitches with Xbox One. The suggestions are as follows: Talking to a live customer support person that can call you back if you don't want to wait, to ask for resolutions on Xbox.com on forums like Twitter with @XboxSupport, to explore, help and diagnose problems on the console by messaging "Xbox Help".
