Akshay Kumar has a busy year ahead of him! After the success of "Airlift," the actor is busy shooting for his next film "Rustom" and now there are reports that the star has bagged yet another role as Saif Ali Khan's replacement in the Bollywood remake of "Chef," according to Oye Times.
Khan was originally chosen to play the lead role in the Hindi version of Jon Favreau's indie flick, which follows the story of an acclaimed chef who quits his restaurant job to start his own food truck with his friend and son, as HNGN previously reported.
However, a source revealed that Khan is set to be replaced with Kumar. "The makers of the film are planning on replacing Saif with Akshay, thanks to his working chemistry with Raja Krishna Menon that was evident in 'Airlift.' Besides this, Akshay is also a better fit for the role as compared to Saif, given that Akshay once was a cook in Bangkok," the source said, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Kumar has several other projects lined up this year, including "Robot 2" alongside Rajnikanth and Vipul Shah's "Namastey England." The 48-year-old actor also has a couple of unconfirmed projects such as "Awara Paagal Deewana 2" and "Welcome 3," which have been in the pipeline for quite some time now, according to International Business Times.
