"Team played professionally. One hundred seventy-five is a big target in the final under pressure. We didn't want to lose a lot of wickets inside the first ten overs. The bowlers also did well to restrict Quetta as they looked to go past 200 at a point," Islamabad United skipper Misbah ul Haq said after winning the final, according to Express Tribune.

Islamabad United secured a place in the final after thrashing Peshawar Zalmi in the third qualifying final of the Pakistan Super League on Sunday night, while the Quetta Gladiators also beat Peshawar Zalmi in the first qualifying final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday night, as HNGN previously reported.

Umer Akmal was awarded best batsman and top run-scorer of PSL 2016, while, Andre Russel bagged best bowler and top wicket-taker award, according to Aaj TV. English all-rounder and Karachi Kings skipper Ravi Bopara was chosen as the most valuable player of PSL's inaugural season.
