The New Jersey bakery that is featured on the popular TLC show "Cake Boss," Carlo's Bakery is opening a brand new location next month in Dallas. The newest Carlo's Bakery will open on March 19 inside the Preston Center, according to the Dallas Morning News' Guide Life.
The Dallas location of the "Cake Boss" bakery is the first store in Texas with 12 other locations nationwide in Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Connecticut, New York and of course, New Jersey. Extremely long lines are expected the Saturday morning the bakery opens, according to Fox 4 News in Dallas. When the Carlo's Bakery opened in Orlando, Fla., in December, customers waited patiently for up to 11 hours, Maurizio Belgiovine, one of the members of the Cake Boss family told the Guide Life.
The first Carlo's bakery opened up in New Jersey in 1910, way before the "Cake Boss" show ever existed. The bakery and its pastry chef, Buddy Castano, gained notoriety for their outlandish cakes and for its two signature treats: cannoli's and lobster tails. Like the other locations, the Dallas bakery will make custom cakes as well as sell treats inside the store like their famous cookies, biscotti and cream puffs.
While the Carlo's Bakery in Dallas will be part of the "Cake Boss" family, the camera crews will not be around too often as most of the filming for the show takes place at the locations in New Jersey. However, members of the Castano family will regularly visit the store and were recently seen in town at a Dallas Mavericks game.
