Zachary Quinto stopped by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night where he opened up about the death of Leonard Nimoy. The late "Star Trek" actor had a profound impact on the life of Qunito, who took on the role of Spock in the latest rebooted "Star Trek" film series.
"I've never met somebody who so fully embodied a sense of fulfillment in their life," Quinto told Colbert. "He was such a tremendous artist, but philanthropist and generous person, and so intelligent. I miss him all the time, I really miss him so much at this point obviously, marking the anniversary of his passing. He was one of the greatest gifts that my career has brought into my personal life."
The actor also revealed to Colbert that Nimoy's wife, Susan Bay, flew out to New York City to attend the opening night of his new play "Smokefall" and said that she was "as much a part of my life as he was. I feel really lucky to have known them on so many levels."
In February 2014, Nimoy revealed that he was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The "Star Trek" actor passed away on Feb. 27, 2015 at the age of 83 from the lung disease in his home, according to the New York Times.
The third film in the rebooted "Star Trek" series, "Star Trek Beyond," comes out July 22 and also stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana.
