Don't throw away those pennies just yet. JCPenney will begin a campaign that has certain products on sale for 1 cent, according to USA Today. These sales will apply to select private label collection items. This will include Arizona-brand items.
The campaign is called "Get Your Penney's Worth," and was created to increase sales and drive more customers to stores across the country, Mashable reports.
The campaign begins this Sunday.
"We know our customers live very busy lives and we want every trip and interaction at J.C. Penney to be worth her time, her hard-earned money and her effort," said Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Mary Beth West.
"The launch of this new brand promise underscores our strategic focus on building private brands and revenue per customer to create sustainable loyalty," West continued, according to Fortune.
The announcement comes after dismal 2015 profits and the closing of 40 stores, even though fourth quarter profits were up from previous quarters. The company is continuing to try and dig itself out of the hole former CEO Ron Johnson dug it into.
The new "Penney Days" campaign replaces JCPenney's previous campaign, "When it fits you feel it." The promotion will last through the entire week, and if successful, will continue throughout the year.
