The city of Lacey, Wash. posted a photo Wednesday of a baby coyote that was rescued from one of their storm drains by a city worker near the Britton Parkway.
The baby coyote in the photo seemed comfortable in the arms of Greg Lee, the worker who rescued it. "Look what we found ... this little coyote pup was in a storm drain off of Britton Parkway!" the post said.

The Facebook page noted that there were two other coyote babies rescued from the drainage system, adding that Lee saw the pups' mother nearby and that he put all three along a nearby wooded tree line.
"I'm proud to serve our community, even the small and furry," the Lee said, according to The Olympian.
No information has been released on how the pups got stuck in the storm drain. The coyotes seemed safe and no injuries were reported after they were rescued, according to UPI.
If baby coyotes are found, it is important to not pick it up immediately for safety reasons. The mother of the baby coyotes could be within the area where the pup roams. Just observe if it goes back to its mother or if the mother comes for its baby, and if not, the baby coyote can be rescued and brought to the nearest wildlife rehabilitation office, according to The Bi-State Wildlife Hotline.
