BLU, the Miami-based smartphone maker has added a new feather to its cap with the world's thinnest smartphone title for its latest Life Pro smartphone with 5-inch HD display. The smartphone comes with a reasonable $299 price tag for high-end smartphone features.
BLU, Miami-based phone manufacturer, announced a new addition to its low-cost Pro lineup, the Life Pro. The company claims that the new entry is the "world's thinnest 5-inch HD" smartphone. BLU Life Pro packs high-end features at a reasonable cost, aiming at shoppers looking for low-cost smartphones. The phone maker has built the phone on a 6.9 millimeters aluminum chassis.
BLU Life Pro is looking to impress its buyers with an amazing camera, best suited for selfies. It sports a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel shooter on the front. Both cameras have back-illuminated sensor for low-light images and video recording up to 1080p. In addition, features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR, and image stabilization are integrated within the camera.
"The BLU LIFE PRO is an accomplishment of engineering as much as one of design," Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of BLU Products, said in a press release. "Every detail and material - particularly the sleek aluminum enclosure - has been meticulously considered and refined. It's made with a level of precision you'd expect from a finely crafted watch, not a smartphone."
The 5-inch display offers a clear and natural color viewing experience with a 1,280 x 720 screen resolution and 293 pixels-per-inch. Under the hood, the standards are kept high with 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. With the help of Google's Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, users can access more than 1 million apps and games through Play Store. Despite the extremely thin design, the Life Pro packs a 2,500 mAh battery that offers up to 12 hours talk time.
The BLU Life Pro does not target the high-end smartphone price range, but with such features it can compete with the likes of newly launched $179 off-contract Moto G. The smartphone will be available in the U.S., Brazil, and Mexico for $299 through leading retailers including Amazon. The exact launch dates for the device were not revealed.
